In 1946 CIÉ imported 6 Daimler CWD6s in knock down form. These were assembled at Broadstone and bodied at Spa Road.

However in 1954 CIÉ rebodied the class to Leyland Titan OPD2s with CIÉ bodywork and were reclassified R575-580 .
