In June 2001 vandals maliciously set fire to VC67 and VP72 while parked over night in Sligo Bus Station. They have since been moved to Iarnrod Éireann's goods yard in Sligo for storage. It is still unknown whether either of them will return to service. If VC67 goes it will be the first of the 147 strong fleet to go. However the lease is up on VP72 so it most likely wont return to service. In the meantime MH14 from Limerick and PL109 from Stanorlar have replaced them. Below are two pictues of VP72 in the goods yard in Sligo taken on 4 August 2001. It is surprising to note that the destination blinds did not catch fire at all. Sadly my pictures of VC67 didnt come out.
