With the opening of LUAS Line B to Sandyford in less than 4 weeks, Buses In Ireland decided to take a journey on the 86 from end to end as its future is uncertain due to the fact its routing mostly parallels the LUAS line between the city and Sandyford. Both Photos 1 June 2004

Below: Journey's end at Killiney Shopping Centre on Rochestown Avenue. The original termius was in Bray when the route was introduced in 1959 as a replacment for the Harcourt Street rail line however in the 1970s the route was cut back to Cabinteely and then routed to the current terminus on Rochestown Avenue
